Privacy statement

Thank you for visiting our website and showing interest in our company as well as our services. It is important for us to protect your privacy when processing your data. This is why your personal data will only be processed by us in line with the provisions of German data protection law. We want you to feel safe when visiting our website.

Personal data

Personal data means any particulars on personal or factual situations relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes information such as the name, address, e-mail address and telephone number. For legal grounds of data protection see New Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG neu), EU General Data Protection Regulations (EU GDPR, effective from 25 May 2018) as well as the German Telemedia Act (TMG).

Generally, it is possible to use our website without having to state any personal data. Should you wish to use individual services offered on our website, different rules may apply; in this case, they will be specifically explained hereinafter and we will hereinafter inform you, in particular, about the nature, scope and purpose of collection, use and processing of personal data.


On our website we use what is referred to as “cookies” the purpose of which is to generally render our website more user friendly, effective as well as secure – for instance when it comes to accelerating navigation through our platform. Cookies also place us in a position to measure how often pages are accessed as well as general navigation, for instance.

Cookies are small text files saved on your computer system. Cookies will not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain any viruses. We would like to point out to you that some of these cookies will be transferred from our server to your computer system, mostly these are what is referred to as “session cookies”. What is characteristic of “session cookies” is that they will automatically be deleted again from your hard disk after the browser session has ended. Other cookies will stay on your computer system and place us in a position to recognise your computer system again the next time you visit our website (which are referred to as permanent cookies). Of course you have the right to disable cookies at any time as long as your browser settings can be changed accordingly. In the help function in the menu bar of most web browsers you will be able to retrieve information as to how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to change your browser settings in such a way that it will be pointed out to you whenever a new cookie is to be accepted or how to disable cookies in general. Similar functions like flash cookies, which are used by browser add-ons, may be disabled or deleted by changing the settings of the browser add-on or also via the website of the company supplying the browser add-on.

Active components

On our website we use a number of active components such as Javascript, Java applets or Active-X controls. This function may be disabled by changing the internet browser settings accordingly.

Server log

Our server log files will record and save information every time you visit our website. The only purpose of such data generated is to technically analyse the use of the server.

Such anonymous data will be stored separately from any personal data that you may have indicated and this means that it is not possible to draw any conclusions as to which person this data refers. It will only be transmitted to third parties to the extent this is required by law or a legal decision ordering disclosure exists. We will not disclose information for commercial or non-commercial purposes.

We reserve the right to subsequently review such data in the event that there are any indications of unlawful use.

Use of Google Fonts

We have added external fonts from Google Fonts to our website. Google Fonts is a service provided by Google Inc. (USA). Fonts added are provided by the Google server in the USA; it is to be assumed that Google stores information on any requests.

Use of Google Maps

This website uses the “Google Maps” component for presenting site plans operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, hereinafter referred to as “Google”.

Every time you call the “Google Maps” component, Google places a cookie added to the “Google Maps” component for the purpose of processing user settings and data. Generally, this cookie will not be deleted when you close the browser; rather, such a cookie expires after a certain period unless you delete it manually beforehand.

In the event that you do not agree to the processing of your data, you have the right to disable the “Google Maps” service and in this way prevent the transmission of data to Google. You will have to disable the Java Script function in your browser to this end. We would, however, like to point out to you that in this case you may not be able to use or not be able to use the full scope of functions of “Google Maps”.

As far as the use of “Google Maps” and information collected through “Google Maps” is concerned, the Google terms of use https://policies.google.com/terms as well as the additional terms and conditions for “Google Maps” https://developers.google.com/maps/terms shall apply. 

Online job applications

In the event that you apply for a job with us, your job application data will be collected and processed by us by electronic means for the purpose of handling the job application process. Should an employment contract be concluded following the job application process, the data transmitted by you may be stored by us in your personnel file for the purpose of handling the usual organisational and administrative processes with due consideration being given to the applicable and relevant legal regulations.

In case your job application has been rejected by us, the data transmitted by you will be deleted automatically two months following announcement of rejection. This rule shall not apply if we are required by law (e.g. duty to retain evidence under the General Equal Treatment Act) to store information for longer or if you have explicitly consented to a longer period of storage in our prospect data base.

Use and disclosure of personal data

In the event that you have asked us to perform a service, your personal data will only be used to the extent this is necessary for performing the service (e.g. processing of requests for information or brochures). This includes but is not limited to disclosing your data to partners competent for your inquiry, transport companies, banks or other service providers employed by us for rendering the service or for contract management purposes.

We will not disclose any information apart from that and this means, in particular, that we will not sell your personal data to third parties.

Exception: We will disclose customer accounts and personal data regarding customers if we are required to do so by law or if it is necessary to disclose such information to enforce our general terms and conditions or other agreements or protect our rights as well as the rights of our customers and third parties, e.g. in case of attacks on our network infrastructure for the purposes of assertion of rights and criminal prosecution. This also involves sharing data with companies specialising in prevention and mitigation of wrongful use and credit card fraud. It is herewith explicitly pointed out for the avoidance of doubt that in this context no data will be disclosed to companies for commercial purposes in any way that would be in breach of this privacy statement.

Confidentiality undertaking by employees and external service providers

Naturally, our employees and any service providers to whom we have assigned any services have assumed a confidentiality undertaking and have been pledged by us to observance of data protection regulations.

Purpose-specific use of personal data

Your personal data will only be used by us for the specified purposes and to the extent necessary for achieving this purpose.

Cooperation with external service providers

We will ask other companies and individuals to perform services on our behalf, e.g. parcel delivery, mail or e-mail delivery, maintenance of our customer lists, analysis of data bases, promotional activities (this also includes making available search results and links), processing of payments (credit card, direct debit and purchase on account) as well as customer service. Such service providers will be given access to personal data required for performance of the respective task. The data may not be used for other purposes, however. Also, these service providers have the duty to treat information in line with this privacy statement as well as the Federal Data Protection Act and General Data Protection Regulation.

To the extent such sub-contractor is a contract data processor within the meaning of section 11 Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz, BDSG) (contract processing in line with article 28 EU GDPR), we have entered into contracts with such sub-contractor by which compliance with the law is safeguarded. 

Information security

We employ technical and organisational security measures that conform to the state of the art in order to prevent accidental or deliberate manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorised persons with respect to data provided by you. Your data will therefore be stored in a safe operating environment to which the general public has no access. Our security measures will be reviewed at regular intervals and continuously improved as technology progresses and evolves.

Should you wish to contact us by e-mail, please bear in mind that when information is transmitted by unencrypted electronic mail, it is not possible to safeguard the confidentiality of the message. It may be possible for third parties to gain access to information contained in unencrypted e-mails. This is why we recommend that you either send us confidential information by way of an encrypted message or by post.

Your e-mail address will only be used for the purpose of our correspondence with you. It will not be used for other purposes or disclosed to third parties.

Protection of your data by TLS or SSL encryption

We use the Transport Layer Security (TLS) hybrid encryption protocol, better known as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), the predecessor designation, to ensure the security of data transmitted over the web. This software encrypts information transmitted by you. Any information relevant for privacy purposes (such as name, address, credit card number, bank sort code, bank account number etc.) is stored in a protected data base in encrypted form.

Access to information, deletion, blacklisting of data

You have the right to request at any time – without having to state any reasons for your request – that you be informed free of charge of which data is stored by us with respect to you, where such data originates, who received such data and to what end data processing is performed. You also have the right to request correction of inaccurate information, blacklisting or deletion of such data.

Objection to unsolicited promotional e-mails

We herewith object to the use of the contact details stated in our legal notice section (which we are required to publish by law) for promotional purposes for sending us not specifically solicited advertising and information. We explicitly reserve the right to take legal action against any individuals or companies sending us unsolicited promotional e-mails such as spam e-mails.

Consent, status and amendment of this privacy statement

By using our website, you are deemed to have consented to use of data as described above. The date of most recent revision is April 2018.

We reserve the right to change or amend this privacy statement at any time with due consideration being given to applicable data protection law and such change and amendment, if applicable, shall take effect in the future. We will be publishing changes and amendments here in this section.
